About the Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Executive Assistant to work directly with the Founder & CEO of
a fast-moving technology startup. This is not a traditional EA role—it is a front-row seat to
company building, capital formation, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a UCLA undergraduate alum with a concentration in International
Relations who is intellectually curious, globally aware, and thrives in environments that require
discretion, speed, and sound judgment. You will act as a force multiplier—anticipating needs,
managing complexity, and ensuring the CEO operates at maximum effectiveness.
This role is ideal for someone considering a future path in strategy, venture capital,
international business, policy, or entrepreneurship.
Core Responsibilities
Executive & Strategic Support
- Manage the CEO’s complex calendar across investor meetings, partnerships, travel, and
personal commitments - Serve as gatekeeper and prioritization partner—filtering requests and surfacing what truly
matters - Prepare briefings, background research, and summaries for meetings (investors, advisors,
partners) - Track follow-ups, commitments, and action items across multiple workstreams
Communications & Coordination - Draft and manage high-stakes communications (investors, board members, external
partners) - Coordinate with legal, finance, PR, and external advisors
- Represent the CEO professionally in scheduling, correspondence, and logistics
Research & Intelligence
- Conduct rapid research on global markets, geopolitical trends, policy issues, and
competitive landscapes - Prepare concise memos and one-pagers for internal decision-making
- Support international travel planning with cultural, political, and business context
Operational & Personal Management - Oversee travel logistics (domestic and international)
- Handle confidential personal and professional matters with discretion
- Support ad-hoc projects that cut across operations, fundraising, and strategy
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required
- UCLA undergraduate alum (preferred) with a concentration in International Relations,
Political Science, Global Studies, or related field - Would be great if pursuing an MA or MBA in International Relations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, synthesis, and critical-thinking abilities
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and judgment
- Obsessively organized; calm under pressure
- Tech-savvy (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack; CRM familiarity a plus)
Strong Plus
- Exposure to venture capital, startups, international organizations, or think tanks
- Multilingual or international living/study experience
- Interest in global affairs, markets, and power dynamics
- Westside / Westwood proximity
