Frequently Asked Questions

Detection & Monitoring

  • xSIGNAL’s proprietary Detection Engine continuously monitors ERP system events and changes at a granular level. It can be configured to run in real-time, near real-time, or through scheduled log queries, depending on your needs.

  • Yes. xSIGNAL uses AI in multiple ways:

    • To establish context around incidents, based on your organization’s definition of what constitutes an anomaly or insider threat.

    • To power AI agents and chatbots that support operational efficiency.
As your data matures, xSIGNAL's machine learning models adapt and improve over time, providing deeper insights and fewer false positives.

  • Yes. Our AI-driven algorithms and configurable Rules Engine add critical context to each potential incident. That context might include timestamps, location data, or advanced user/entity behavior analytics (UEBA). We recommend starting with rule-based configuration and layering in machine learning as data quality and volume grow.

  • Once a signal is detected, xSIGNAL’s Workflow Engine automatically routes it to the appropriate parties based on your configuration.

    • For a verified insider threat: The system may trigger SMS alerts to the employee or contractor, real-time messages to the CISO or Security Officer via Teams or Slack, and updates to your SIEM/dashboard.

    • For a false positive: Notifications can be delivered via email to relevant individuals for review and closure.

Resolution & Governance

  • Yes. Our Action Tracking and Escalation module follows every notification to ensure timely resolution. If no action is taken, the system re-notifies and expands outreach to additional personnel or channels until the issue is addressed. Once resolved, xSIGNAL logs and communicates the closure automatically.

  • That’s because it is de facto Governance. xSIGNAL gives organizations a powerful, completely customizable platform with which they can build out true Communications Governance. We have found that one of the reasons insider incidents go unsolved for nearly 90 days is a lack of communications governance.

Operational Efficiency

  • xSIGNAL enables operational efficiency by automating routine tasks and improving access to services. For example:

    • If an employee needs help updating their direct deposit information but can’t reach HR, xSIGNAL recognizes the event is not a threat and initiates an AI-powered chatbot to walk them through the process—freeing up your help desk and improving the employee experience.

  • Yes. From payroll changes to benefits enrollment, xSIGNAL automates the support process, reducing the burden on HR or IT teams and maintaining high-quality service with fewer resources.

Communication Strategy

  • Yes. xSIGNAL’s Communications Matrix allows you to build a smart outreach strategy that avoids inbox fatigue.

    • For compliance training: Start with Teams/Slack messages and escalate follow-ups only if required actions aren't taken.

    • For benefits enrollment: Send reminders across SMS, email, and chat platforms. If an employee gets stuck, open a chatbot session in real-time to assist.

  • Yes. xSIGNAL supports WhatsApp and other internet-based messaging platforms with API support, ensuring global accessibility without relying solely on SMS.

Infrastructure

  • xSIGNAL has designed a robust cloud infrastructure to power our platform.  Cloud security best practices have been employed to create a secure, scalable, and powerful platform to enable your omni-channel communication workflows.  All data in motion is encrypted between your site and our cloud and application components as processing occurs.  Any location where your data is at rest is also encrypted – be it your tenant database, temporary message processing, or backups.

  • The short answer is no.  xSIGNAL creates a complete cloud environment just for your use.  No data storage, encryption, or data communication channels are shared with other customers, providing a highly secure environment for your omnichannel communication needs.

  • Our cloud solution is built with cloud best practices to maximize security and ensure your data is protected.  Our hosting partner Microsoft Azure is a well-known, trusted cloud infrastructure provider and carries many compliance certifications such as SOC2 and ISO 27001.  xSIGNAL’s platform will be undergoing SOC2 audit and certification in the second half of 2025, which includes a rigorous audit of our policies and processes used to develop and manage our cloud solution and secure your data.
